Robot vacuums just keep growing

The robot vacuum industry is experiencing significant growth, both in market size and technological advancements. In 2021, the global market was valued at approximately $4.48 billion and is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.4% from 2022 to 2030.

Recent innovations showcased at CES 2025 highlight the increasing capabilities of these devices. For instance, Roborock’s Saros Z70 features an Omnigrip arm capable of picking up objects weighing under 300 grams, such as socks or tissues, and placing them in designated spots. This functionality allows the vacuum to clear obstacles that would typically impede cleaning.

Similarly, Dreame’s latest models incorporate small legs designed to navigate high room transitions, enhancing their ability to clean multiple areas without manual intervention. Additionally, new roller mops have been introduced to improve cleaning efficiency along baseboards and in corners.

These developments indicate a trend toward more autonomous and efficient floor cleaning solutions, with robot vacuums becoming increasingly adept at handling complex home environments.
