Apple smart home hub — report says when the company’s totally new product could launch

Apple is developing a new smart home hub, often referred to as the “Command Center,” designed to enhance smart home management. Initially anticipated for an early 2025 release, recent reports suggest potential delays. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the launch may be postponed due to dependencies on features in upcoming iOS versions, possibly pushing the release to later in the year.

The device is expected to feature a square, 6-inch display, resembling an iPad, and will serve as a central hub for controlling HomeKit devices, facilitating FaceTime calls, and integrating with Siri for voice commands. This positions it to compete with products like Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub.

While the exact release date remains uncertain, the Command Center is anticipated to launch sometime in 2025, with the possibility of delays extending into the latter part of the year. Apple aims to provide a comprehensive solution for smart home management with this new device.
