Poland’s Big Cheese Studio says game development unaffected by cyberattack

Polish game developer Big Cheese Studio experienced a cyberattack on January 24, 2025, during which hackers reportedly accessed the company’s game code systems and employee personal data, demanding a ransom of 100,000 zlotys (approximately $24,887) in cryptocurrency to prevent data exposure.

Despite the breach, the company has assured stakeholders that its game development projects remain unaffected. Big Cheese Studio stated that key infrastructure elements, including game data repositories and social media accounts, were not compromised. The company is collaborating with external IT specialists to assess the incident’s scope and has initiated appropriate legal actions.

Following the attack, the company’s shares experienced a decline of approximately 7.3%.

Big Cheese Studio is known for titles such as “Cooking Simulator” and is preparing to release “Underdose.” The company has emphasized that its game development schedule remains on track, and no data loss has occurred.
