At the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its upcoming mixed reality (XR) headset, developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. The device, internally referred to as “Project Moohan,” is designed to integrate virtual and augmented reality experiences. It operates on Android XR, a specialized operating system tailored for headsets and smart glasses.
Visually, Project Moohan bears resemblance to devices like Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s Quest Pro, featuring a sleek design aimed at immersive user experiences. Samsung has indicated that the initial release will target developers, with a broader consumer launch planned subsequently.
In addition to the XR headset, Samsung and Google have announced a partnership to develop augmented reality (AR) glasses. While specific details remain limited, Samsung’s TM Roh emphasized the companies’ commitment to achieving high-quality and readiness in these AR devices promptly.
These developments underscore Samsung’s strategic initiative to advance in the XR and AR markets, leveraging collaborations with industry leaders to deliver innovative products.
